living in Britain
There’s freedom in British adventuring. It’s accessible and economical, yet has the qualities of great adventure. You can adventure any day of the week. No visa needed, no planes to catch. And you get to see some of the world’s most stunning scenery.
I’d like to inspire you and help you become a great British adventurer. Not an Arctic explorer, but someone who has adventures closer to home.
Whatever your age, ethnicity, or gender, if you have a desire to live a bit more adventurously and spend more time outdoors, this site is for you. You’ll find the knowledge you need to make that dream a reality. You don’t need to be super fit to adventure. I’m not. A certain level of fitness makes life more enjoyable, but you can gain that. Getting out and doing exercise will make you fitter.
You can climb a hill without being like the shiny people on social media. You don’t need a YouTube channel to camp in the woods. This is for everyone.
It’s not about competition and winning things. It’s not about being the fastest or climbing the highest hill. It’s about getting out in nature and having a good time.
How I can help you with your adventuring…
You’ll find articles on this site that will help with many aspects of outdoor adventure. There are also gear reviews and advice on what to buy. These reviews aim to cut through the marketing BS that prevails online. And to give you some experience-based opinion instead. You don’t need a whole hill of gear to start adventuring and I’ll help you decide what you need – and what you don’t.
I get fed up wading through reviews based on little or no experience of the gear. So, I decided to create something better. This site is the result. All the reviews are about kit that I own or know about.
